Bike Vermont

Vermont’s best biking starts at our doorstep.

imgresThe Champlain Valley stretches out to the west with rolling hills, picturesque farms, and quaint villages.  Great paved back roads make biking the best way to experience it.  We have several biking loops that can be tailored to your wish — from a few miles to forty or more — and you set the pace.

The Proctor Loop takes you along winding country roads through three covered bridges to the village of Proctor and Vermont’s Marble Museum.

Head to Middlebury by way of Lake Dunmore, a haunted house, and a covered bridge.  Or delve into Revolutionary history at Mount Independence and take the 7-minute ferry across Lake Champlain to tool around Fort Ticonderoga.

DSC01990We’ll provide you with maps and detailed instructions on how to get there from here — and back again.  Bikes can be rented right here at the inn through our partnership with Green Mountain Bikes of Rochester.   You can even get a bicycle built for two, as these honeymooners did!

Country Inns Along the Trail provides three to ten day packages for travelers who want to bike between a number of inns.
